Is the U.S. military going to issue the Multicam combat uniform?
Is it? it’s supposed to be the ultimate combat uniform being versital, strong, tactical, and comfertable.It doesn’t win the buety contest between the ACU and the MARPAT uniforms in my eyes but who cares bout that.But is it going to be issued any time soon?
I doubt it will replace the ACUPAT for several reasons:
Money- ACUPAT gear, clothing in Inventory already amounts to a substantial investment. Hell, theres even an ACU pattern “Nutsack” 50round ammo holder for the M240 now, along with ACU Barrelbags.
Stubbornness- Army Puzzle Palace Commandos dont want to admit ACUPAT sucks. I was in Baghdad when the first units arrived wearing it (48th Georgia Brigade). You could spot the GA. Boys far further away than those in DCU’s. It sure as hell doesnt blend in the Northeast USA.
Multicam, might wind up as an additional uniform, much like the DCU did with BDU’s.
