Hunting Blind Plans

starting out predator hunting?
i wanna do some predator hunting like fox, (red or gray), coyote or raccoon. i downloaded animal distress call from a website. and i think loaded them onto an old mp3 player and i gonna put them on repeat and have them play through a speaker. i wanna put the speaker in a small clearing in some woods around my house. and i plan on making a blind on the ground by a tree and then going out to woods at night putting the calls out and sitting there for a while and wait for something to come in.
also what about lighting will light scare away a furbearer. i was just wondering i heard they use a red spotlight will one of those hatlights work mine has a red color on it. and do you keep the light on all the time. and how often do raccoons come in to your calls. i heard that raccoons come in calls in great numbers.
Fox and Coyote can work off the wounded rabbit call, which is my favorite, but a coon call is a different story. Coon calls like squirrel calls are made to simulate raccoon activity in the area, which sends the curious raccoon to check it out. If there was any call that cause “great numbers” of coons to come out of the woods country boys would have shot all their coon dogs by now. When calling coons you can expect to come home empty handed many a night.
As for the Fox and Coyote, they cannot see a red light. I use a 500,000 candle power spot with a red lens. Keep spotting the area every so often and when you see the red eyes shining back at you, identify your target and take you shot. If you have a large opening you could shoot over a hundred yards. You need power for the light, so you can buy a portable power pack from Wal-Mart or do like I do and hunt from the back of truck, and bring an extra battery. Some experts say you should be at ground level, but I like being up in the back of the truck for better vision. Wear dark clothing and keep absolutely quiet. Hunter between dusk and dawn. I have had the most luck between 10PM and 4AM. I have never noticed any issue with scent, as Coyotes have gotten so use to prowling in close to humans. Keep a shotgun close by in case one come close by. Good luck.
